Olivia Kim brought her long-standing admiration of Memphis Milano to life by curating an exhibition dedicated to her favorite design movement, in partnership with Peter Shire, a founding member of the collective.

“I’ve loved this stuff since I was 9 years old. I’m not following a trend. I have a story to tell that’s genuine and true. The hope is that this exhibition will open a sense of discovery, showing that the retail experience doesn’t always have to feel so transactional. Whether you are a collector of Memphis or learning about the movement for the first time, we want to make art and design accessible to all in a fun and inviting environment.” -OK

L.A. based designer and Memphis founding member, Peter Shire, consulted on the in-store design direction and created a limited art print especially for the exhibit. Shire talks about the unique collaboration, “Memphis Milano was launched in 1981 in Milan, Italy and has been shown around the world in museums, galleries, and various design venues. The presentation at Nordstrom’s Flagship in Seattle is a real boost because it is a beautiful store with great history that’s attached to elegance and quality.”
